Founded in 1948 by Sanford Kelleher and Clifford Flanders, Sancliff Inc. began its journey as a wire die manufacturer and material supplier in Jefferson, Massachusetts, supporting the thriving wire manufacturing industry in Worcester County. Sanford and Clifford successfully operated the company until 1970, when they sold it to William “Bill” Christianson, who expanded Sancliff’s sales reach beyond its original boundaries.

Under Bill’s leadership, Sancliff embraced quality manufacturing methods, which proved essential during the challenging economic conditions of the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 1983, Sancliff was acquired by William “Bill” Drumm, a seasoned executive with a wealth of experience from GE, Greenfield Tap & Die, and Coppus Engineering. The Drumm family continues to own and operate Sancliff as a privately held corporation.

That same year, Bill Drumm Sr. relocated the company to Worcester, Massachusetts, upgrading our manufacturing space from 7,500 to nearly 25,000 square feet. Since then, we have further expanded our capabilities by adding a completely new manufacturing facility in Farmville, North Carolina. This growth has allowed us to diversify our product offerings, including fiber optic coating systems, textile coatings, impregnation dies, custom-sized dies, and much more.

Meet The Team

Bill Drumm (President)

With a career spanning over three decades, I have dedicated my professional life to the development of innovative die solutions. I began my journey at Sancliff in 1994 as a sales representative, spending 12 years on the road engaging with customers and collaborating on projects globally. This hands-on experience allowed me to deepen my expertise in designing and producing tools and dies for the optical fiber and wire drawing/cabling industries.

In 2007, I took on the role of President, succeeding my father, William G. Drumm, who had led the company since 1983. Since then, I’ve focused on enhancing every aspect of Sancliff’s manufacturing and inspection capabilities. Under my leadership, we have integrated cutting-edge technology across all departments, resulting in significant improvements in our capabilities, capacity, and customer satisfaction.

I pride myself on being approachable and easy to work with, ensuring that our clients feel supported throughout the entire process. Together, we can find long-lasting solutions that meet your needs in the ever-evolving landscape of the industry.

Rick Sealey (General Manager, Sancliff – North)

I began my career with Sancliff in 1998 as a Tool Maker, where I developed a deep passion for my craft and honed my skills in creating innovative solutions. In 2005 I was named Lead toolmaker for Sancliff. My time in this role was instrumental in shaping my understanding of tool making, and I quickly became a key contributor to our team’s success.

In 2007, I transitioned to Engineering and Technical Sales, using my extensive knowledge of tool making to connect design concepts with production realities. I found great fulfillment in helping customers navigate their most challenging projects and providing tailored solutions that exceeded their expectations.

In 2011, I was honored to be appointed General Manager of Sancliff, Inc. in Worcester, Ma. In this capacity, I continue to leverage my background in tool making and product development to address complex production and design needs. I am passionate about supporting our customers and am always eager to share insights and quotes.

Trent Drumm (General Manager, Sancliff – South)

I grew up deeply connected to the manufacturing industry, where discussions about dies, tooling, wire, and optical fiber were commonplace at our family dinner table. This early exposure instilled a passion for the field that has driven my career path. In 2021, I was thrilled to officially begin my journey with the company as a sales representative, a role that allowed me to apply and expand my industry knowledge.

My career was briefly paused for a significant chapter of service in the United States Marine Corps, where I spent four years on active duty. This experience taught me invaluable lessons in leadership, discipline, and commitment, which I now bring to my professional life.

Returning to the private sector, I quickly embraced the challenges and opportunities that came my way, leveraging my strong foundation in tooling to make a meaningful impact. This dedication led me to my current position as the General Manager of our FarmVille, NC manufacturing plant.

In this role, I am deeply committed to working tirelessly to ensure Sancliff remains at the forefront of the industry for many years to come. I am excited about the future and the potential achievements we can realize together with our customers. My focus is on fostering innovation and collaboration, and I look forward to building strong, successful partnerships. Michael Castillo (Administrative Manager)

I was born in the vibrant Dominican Republic, where I developed a deep appreciation for culture and community. At the age of 13, I moved to Worcester, a transition that shaped my perspective and ambition. After graduating from high school, I pursued my passion for technology by attending Quinsigamond Community College. This journey led me to Worcester State University, where I earned my degree in computer science. Being fluent in Spanish allows me to connect with a broader audience, enriching my ability to serve our diverse customer base effectively.

I joined the company as an administrative assistant in late 2021 and am truly excited about this opportunity. In 2024, I was promoted to administrative manager, which allows me to interact daily with our valued customers and vendors alike. My commitment to excellence drives me to utilize my education and skills to best serve our customers. I look forward to helping the company and our clients grow together as we move into the future.
